Will Missouri Republicans Back Funding For Federal Aid For Joplin?

Our hearts and prayers go out to the residents of Joplin in the wake of the second worst storm to strike America.

In the wake of the horrible tornado devastation in Joplin Missouri, will Joplin Congressman Billy Long and Senator Roy Blunt reverse their stands on funding the U. S. Federal Government.

Congressman Billy Long tried to defund and attempted to weaken the tornado warning systems that were in place set up to protect people from just this kind of event.

Senator Roy Blunt  said last week he did not support increasing the money the government is allowed to borrow without first making major reductions in federal spending.

Does he now back using federal money  to help with clean up in Joplin? To do this the Federal Government will have to raise the debt limit.

President Barack Obama issued a disaster declaration to include Jasper and Newton Counties.Residents may now be eligible for federal assistance.

President Obama also granted a public assistance declaration for Jasper and Newton counties for costs associated with debris removal and emergency protective measures.

Senator Blunt has put FEMA's telephone number on his web page.
